What would you do in the situations below? In the 2020 Olympics (well happened 2021) High Jumpers Mutaz Barshim of Qatar and Gianmarco Tamberi of Italy tied at the end of the competition. Once told of this, they talked it out for a while and they decided not to do a jump off and just share the Gold Medal. This last week again the High Jump at 2024 Olympics ended in a tie between Hamish Kerr of Nee New Zealand and Shelby McEwen of the US. It took them less than a second to agree on a jump off to see who would take home the Gold and the other the Silver. Who did it right? Who was wrong? Honestly in my opinion I do not think either situation is necessarily right or wrong. The two people involved decided collectively and agreed with the outcome that works for both parties. I can see both outcomes and support both decisions. Personally though, I would want to jump off mainly to see who wins. I love to compete (almost more than winning) and I would be ok risking a possibly gold to win it by myself or take home the silver knowing I competed. That’s what most important to me in a competition and that is - did I compete well? - did I glorify God in how I competed. I Would love to hear what you think about both cases and what would you do. Have a blessed day In my eyes
