Too Big for Your Britches - Southern Term for this Week. Unarguable this phase is Southern criticism. Translated, it means, “You sure do think a lot of yourself.” Britches in another word for pants in the South. It has nothing to do with having a muffin top or being overweight! If you hear this one, you should probably pause a moment. Southerners tell it like it is—no matter what it is—so think of this as a learning moment. Sport Ministry Application: Romans 12:3 says, For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. If you hear this Southern Term directed to you - take some time for self reflection. The speaker is loving you enough to politely, in the Southern way, rebuke you for your own good. They are being your teammate - brother or sister in Christ.
