“Southern Terms” & how they relate to Sports Ministry. In our staff meetings at CEDESPORTS I tend to reveal my Alabama roots and use many of these terms and my coworkers (Bob Schindler and Jeff Fox) get a weird look on their faces. So, I have to explain myself. If you have suggestions for future posts, send me a message on this app and I will include them one Monday in the future for all those unedjumakated folks! "Madder than a Wet Hen" Hens sometimes enter a phase of "broodiness," meaning that they'll do anything to incubate their eggs and will get agitated when farmers try to collect them. Farmers thus dunk hens in cold water to "break" their broodiness... and hens don't like that one bit. When you hear this term back up! Sports Ministry usage: A member of the church says, “The pastor is madder than a wet hen with you!” This means you need to work on your apology and your resume! You have messed up and you need to remind yourself that God still loves you!
